Resolving a lead
End a lead that is going nowhere
Resolving a lead closes it. It leaves the Leads step, stops appearing in your call queue, and shows up under results. This is final.
A lead that ends in a presentation does not need resolving. Submitting the presentation closes it as a sale, a trial sale, or a no sale.
Resolve a lead
- Open the lead.
- Pick a reason under Resolve, at the foot of the actions.
If you are already on a call, the same reasons sit under the call outcome buttons. Using them there logs the call as well as closing the lead, which is the honest record of what happened.
Which reason to pick
| Reason | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Bad number | The number is dead, disconnected, or not a working line |
| Wrong number | The number works but belongs to someone else |
| Unresponsive | You have tried enough times and nobody ever picks up or replies |
| Refused | They told you no |
| Do not contact | They asked not to be contacted again |
Do not contact is the one to use whenever they ask to be left alone. It is what keeps them off every future call list.
If there are no Resolve options
A brand new lead cannot be resolved before it has been worked. Click Call and the Resolve options appear with the call outcome buttons.
Once a lead has reached the appointment step you get three reasons rather than five: Unresponsive, Refused, and Do not contact. A number that reached someone well enough to book a sit is not a bad or wrong number, so those two are no longer offered. This holds whether the sit is still booked, was canceled, or was a no show.
